MEMPHIS, Tenn. — There's a new fight to save historic schools in Memphis.

The school board has voted to begin the process of closing Omni Prep Academy Lower School, Omni Prep Academy Middle School, Southern Avenue Middle School, Carver High  School, Messick Adult High School and Northside High School.

They join a long list of schools closed or surrendered to charter operators over the past few years.

Well-known Memphis pastor Ralph White is a Carver High alum. He joins us Live at 9.
