ROGERSVILLE, Tenn. — Gary Simpson, the man authorities say took 9-year-old Carlie Trent, has been added to the TBI Top 10 Most Wanted list.

Reward money for the return of Carlie is up to $40,000.

Simpson, who is Trent’s uncle, took her from her school in Rogersville May 4.

Charged against Simpson have been upgraded to especially aggravated kidnapping.

The TBI believes Simpson may have taken Carlie to an isolated area like a campground or park. They may have been spotted in Otterville, Missouri, according to the Cooper County Sheriff’s Department.

Carlie was last seen wearing a black and grey tank top and blue jeans. However, before going to her school, Simpson purchased several items of girls’ clothing, according to the TBI.

Simpson is driving a white 2002 Dodge conversion van with Tennessee registration 173GPS. The van has a dark stripe down the middle with light gold running boards, and paint is chipping off of the hood.
