MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The wind caused some damage in Tom Lee Park and forced Beale Street Music Festival to open the gates a couple of hours late.

The organizers cancelled four acts that couldn’t fit with the tighter schedule, but thousands of people turned out after the skies cleared.

Saturday’s artists included Jason Derulo, Modest Mouse, Meghan Trainor, Yo Gotti, Violent Femmes and Barenaked Ladies, among others.

The festival has another day of music Sunday.
