MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Should there be a Target in Downtown Memphis?

One resident thinks so and started a petition to bring the retail chain to the now-empty Peabody Place Mall.

It has more than 1,000 signatures as of Saturday.

The petition writer, Jerred Price, said a Target could attract even more business and would help redevelop the Peabody Mall into an “every day use destination,” rather than its previous feel of a “mall for tourist and locals to go to when they wanted to ‘Spend the day shopping.'”
