Scholarship aims to support local single mother

The Community Foundation of Greater Memphis is looking to help a local single mother continue her education through the Edna Fant McConnell Scholarship Fund.

Those interested in applying must be a single mother, 21-years of age or older and have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

You must also be currently accepted in, or plan to attend, a four-year college or university, and prove there is a financial need.

One student each year is selected to receive the $1,800 award.

All applications must be turned in by April 1, 2016.
