MEMPHIS, Tenn. — There were plenty of developments in the Tennessee General Assembly this week around the issue of gun rights versus gun control.

A bill to allow college students and employees who have valid permits to bring guns to campus is headed for final passage, just as legislative committees rejected proposals to expand background checks and hold adult gun owners criminally liable if children get their hands on the weapons.
