MEMPHIS, Tenn. —  Dr. George Nichopoulos, better known as Dr. Nick and Elvis Presley’s physician, has died.

Nichopoulos started treating Elvis in the late 1960s until his death.

In the 1980’s Dr. Nick was indicted and later acquitted for over prescribing drugs like sleeping pills, narcotics and amphetamines to Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis and other patients.

Shortly after acquittal, in that case, his medical license was temporarily suspended.

In the mid-1990s, he lost it permanently for over-prescribing drugs to other patients.
