Man wanted in robbery that led to shooting of Clarksdale officer is in custody

CLARKSDALE, Miss. --The Mississippi Highway Patrol says it has Leandrew Booker in custody.

We are told Booker, 20, was taken into custody in Clarksdale.

Less than an hour ago, law enforcement agencies said they were seeking Booker in connection with robbery that led to the shooting of a Clarksdale police officer.

Booker is also known as "Little Teddy."

He is also on parole for burglary-larceny of an unoccupied dwelling.

Cpl. Derrick Couch is recovering after being shot in the head Saturday.

Couch was responding to the robbery when he was shot.

Johnny Robinson Jr. is already charged with two counts of armed robbery and attempted murder.
