MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A 17-year-old died Thursday night after he and two other teens pulled over to help a woman and her baby on the side of the road.

Saturday, police identified that 17-year-old as Antoine Bell. He was a student at Raleigh Egypt High School.

Police said a woman’s car broke down on Kerwood and Winwood, and she waived down another car for help.

The car stopped, and its driver and two passengers got out, police said. Then another vehicle pulled up, and the two people inside got out, walked over to the other two cars and fired shots.

Officers found Bell unresponsive when they arrived at the scene.

The other three were taken to Regional Medical Center, police said. They suffered gunshot wounds, but their injuries were not critical.
