Former Memphis officer convicted of statutory rape

MEMPHIS, Tenn.-  Cornelius Monger, a former Memphis police officer, has been found guilty of statutory rape by an authority figure, sexual battery by an authority figure and incest.

Monger was a Memphis police officer from July 2006 to April 2013 when he was fired.

During testimony, prosecutors said Monger molested a family member when she was a teenager.

He will be sentenced In January.

Earlier this year, Monger’s father Henry pleaded guilty to raping the same teen and two of her sisters.

Henry Monger is serving a 15-year sentence.
