Ruth Mason Lewis passes away at 95

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The life of Mrs. Ruth Mason Lewis is being remembered after she passed away at age 95.

According to a news release, Mrs. Lewis died early Saturday, November 28.

Mrs. Lewis was the daughter of Church of God in Christ founder Bishop Charles Mason.

She was also the widow of the late Robert S. Lewis, Jr., of the historic R.S. Lewis & Sons Funeral Home.

The couple were married for 64 years and had two children together.

Mrs. Lewis was also an early member of the Memphis LINKS, the National Smart Set and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.

Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 8 at the Pentecostal Temple COGIC located at 229 South Danny Thomas Boulevard.

The service will begin promptly at 10 a.m.
