SOUTHAVEN, Miss. — One Southaven church found a way to give back to the community one gas tank at a time.

Members of SouthPoint Church teamed up with Raceway to give out $4,000 worth of gas.

Several hundred vehicles lined up to receive their $10 worth of fuel.

One man said he was thankful for the church’s generosity.

“It’s real great. We need a lot of people to try to help and give back to the community and I just thank the Lord for them giving free gas today,” he said.

But that wasn’t where the church’s charity ended.

They also have plans to feed the Southaven Police Department, help build homes in the area and serve refreshment to construction workers on the job.
