PATTERSON, N.J. — An attack on a New Jersey teacher is gaining attention many months after it happened.

The Patterson, New Jersey teacher was attacked when he took a cell phone from a student.

The student grabs the teacher, eventually pushing him into a desk, pulling him and then slamming him onto the floor.

The ninth grade student was suspended and charged with assault.

The video is getting attention because people are wondering why the attack on the teacher did not get as much attention and the violent arrest of a South Carolina student.

In the New Jersey incident the student was black and the teacher white.

In South Carolina, the student was black and the officer white.

Both incident started over a cell phone being used in class.

Some people are saying the South Carolina case deserves more attention because they feel it was abuse by an authority figure.
