10 people escape burning Memphis home

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A family of ten is homeless after an overnight house fire in Southwest Memphis.

The fire broke out just before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 3000 block of Green Road south of Peebles Road.

Firefighters say there were three adults and seven children inside when the fire started.

They were all able to get out safely.

A firefighter was treated at the scene for minor injuries he sustained while battling the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The American Red Cross was called to the scene to help the fire victims.
