Winter Storm: Where, when and how much

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from Memphis north until 6 p.m.

North Mississippi is under a Winter Weather Advisory also until 6 p.m.

Those under the Winter Storm Warning can expect a freezing rain and sleet mix with 1 to 3 inches of accumulation possible.

Highs will be near 30 and winds will gust to produce wind chills between 10-15 degrees today.

Those under the Winter Weather Advisory can expect ice accumulation of less than a 1/4 inch with up to a 1/2 inch of sleet.

Most main roads have been treated, but beware they are still slick and sleet is accumulating on bridges.

Precipitation will be moving out later this afternoon leaving a few snow flurries behind.

Very cold air will move in for the rest of the week with a low near 7 by Thursday morning.
