MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Tigers are bowl eligible for the first time since 2008, thanks to their 16-13 last second win over Temple.

They traveled to Philadelphia to take on the Temple Owls in a match-up of five-and-three teams.

The team bounced back from a ten-zip lead, and tied the game at ten at halftime.

The two teams traded field goals in the second half before Jake Elliott scored the game-winning, 31-yard field goal.

Plus, the Grizzlies stayed perfect at 6-0 with a 91-89 squeaker in Oklahoma City.

The team will be in Milwaukee Saturday.

Sometimes in football, you lose the games that you should have won. In this case, we no doubt won a game that we should have lost. Temple had two dropped touchdown passes and a missed field goal. Was not impressed with our play calling for much of the game. But, we showed grit and a tremendous work ethic. The defense was pretty solid throughout. When the game was on the line, the Tigers found a way to pull it out. Congrats to coach Fuente, his staff and the entire Tigers football team. They just beat a team that upset the #23 team in the country a week before. Great improvement, great for the city, great for Tiger football fans who have sat through many, many sorry seasons. I felt sorry for a very good Temple squad that had to play in front of a few thousand people. Temple University should be ashamed of themselves for the lack of support displayed on national television. Go Tigers Go !!!
