School shooter T.J. Lane captured after prison break

LIMA, Ohio– Convicted killer T.J. Lane is back in custody hours after escaping from an Ohio prison Thursday night.

Lane and Clifford Opperud escaped from Allen Oakwood Correctional Institution at 7:45 p.m.

Lane was taken back into custody around 1 a.m. Friday.

Lane is serving a life sentence for shooting and killing three classmates at Chardon High School in February of 2012.

After the escape, police told people in the nearby area to lock their doors and windows, and not to pick up hitchhikers.
