Two teenagers charged for shooting child, 16-year-old

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two teenagers have been arrested for shooting a 12- and 16-year-old Tuesday night.

Sixteen-year-old A’King George and 17-year-old Cameron Gates are charged with two counts of criminal attempt first-degree murder.

The 12-year-old was shot near Egypt Central and Brockcrest. The child was then taken to Le Bonheur in critical condition.

The 16-year-old, who was found in the 3400 block of Bradcrest, was taken to the children’s hospital in non-critical condition.

Police say the victims know George and Gates.

The shooting happened at about 10:15 p.m.
