BARTLETT, Tenn. -- A teenage girl who used to live in the Mid-South died in a crash Monday.

The wreck happened at about 4:40 p.m. at Yale and Memphis-Arlington.

Investigators say the driver of a Lincoln Town Car failed to yield the right-of-way to the Ford F-150 in which the two teens were riding.

The crash caused the truck to cross over the median into oncoming traffic, where it hit a third car before rolling onto its passenger side.

No charges have been filed at this time and the crash is still under investigation.

Briana J. Jones attended Cordova High School before her family moved to Houston, Texas.

She was visiting her boyfriend, who was driving the truck and is a student at Bartlett High School.

Grief counselors will be at Cordova High School today.

I was a friend of Briana and former classmate of hers. She was such an amazing person! She always brought the biggest laughs and she always was so very optimistic! It’s very sad and Cordova will never feel the same, and it’s really sad that she didn’t have the chance to experience adulthood! This is still very unbelievable, just over 21 hours ago she took and picture to update her Facebook profile picture and posted about her being overwhelmed by her last year in high school as a senior :( . Briana Jones, you were incredible! We all know that! We love you and we will miss you! Fly high and watch over us! R.I.P….

Sorry for your loss Summer & Javontay. Maybe your class could do something special for her for prom or graduation…like shirts, ribbons, maybe in her favorite color to keep her memory alive. My prayers are with you all.
