MEMPHIS, Tenn–University of Memphis rising junior Damien Wilson will transfer from the school, Tigers basketball head coach Josh Pastner announced Friday.  “Damien is in good academic standing at the University, but he shared with me that he’d like a fresh start,” said Pastner. “We support Damien and wish him all the best.”

The 6-foot-5, 195-pound guard played two seasons for the Blue and Gray, seeing action in 43 career games.
Wilson was a member of the 2012-13 and 2013-14 Tigers squads that posted a combined 55-15 record and earned consecutive NCAA Tournament berths. He was a part of the 2012-13 team that recorded a 31-5 overall mark and swept the Conference USA regular-season and tournament championships.
The Tigers currently are practicing for their Canadian exhibition tour which is Aug. 15-20. Memphis will play four games in four days on the tour.

Wish you the best Damien, I can understand why you are leaving. I believe you should have got more playing time last season, but because Coach Pastner does not know how to use his bench you must do what is best for you, he had an eleven man rotation last year but chose to only play eight. Good Luck.
