MPD searching for second man in community center shooting

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police are searching for a second man in a shooting outside a community center.

An 11-year-old boy was shot in July, 17 outside the Charles R. Powell Community Center at 810 Western Park.

The child is listed in non-critical condition.

Two men were fighting during a basketball game when they both started shooting according to witnesses.

Joseph Johnson, 21, was charged with Aggravated Assault and Unlawful Possession/Carrying of a Weapon.

Police are still looking for 19-year-old Jeremiah Shervington, for whom they have issued an arrest warrant for Aggravated Assault and Reckless Endangerment.

In 2012, three teenagers were shot while playing basketball outside the same community center.
