MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One person is recovering after being hit during a drive-by shooting in North Memphis early Monday morning.

Just before 3 a.m., police were called to the 2300 block of Vollintine Avenue near Biggs Street.

Neighbors say they heard around 30 shots fired into a house, then saw two cars in front of that house burst into flames.

Police say the shooting victim was hit in the leg and taken to the Regional Medical Center.

So far, police haven’t identified any suspects.

They’re asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH.

The mayor is a coward but the police director is cleaning up the department. He has fired more terrible officers than any other director.

He has fired more terrible officers than any other director.
He can’t fire himself, but he can resign and the police will be a lot better.
He won’t resign because the mayor figured out a way to make Toney a way to make a way for him to get a retirement that will make him wealthy when he retires in 2017.

The need to be looking at the thugs that were trying to incite a riot at the community center, you know those hair hatted gorillas and their baby daddys had something to do with it all!

End the war on drugs and start one on gangs. Wipe this scourge from our society. Overall crime and gun deaths would plummet.

There is pure ignorance in some of these comments and I don’t even have to single the two out that I am referring to. I grew up in this neighborhood and used to hang with these groups. I discovered that life is more than retaliation and proving who “runs things.” You aren’t ever at peace. You make a constant war on these streets because there is a war going inside you. I could go on and on but what’s the point? All I’m going to get back is remarks most likely calling me out of my name, etc etc. All we can do is keep trying to be a positive influence on these youth and one day this city may turn around for the better. Maybe put your need for war to defend our country rather than tearing down our city. Makes more sense doesn’t it?
