Cards call up Redbirds pitcher and send rookie to Memphis

ST. LOUIS, MO–The St. Louis Cardinals have recalled left-handed pitcher Tyler Lyons from the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds and sent lefty Marco Gonzales to Memphis.

This will be Lyons second stint with the Cards this season.  He went 0-3 with a 6.12 ERA in six games early in the season before a shoulder injury sidelined him. for a while.

Gonzalez, a 22-year-old rookie, made three starts with St. Louis and posted an 0-2 record with a 7.07 ERA.  He was promoted from Double-A Springfield, Mo on June 25.  This will be Gonzales’ first appearance with Triple-A Memphis.
