SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- Polls are open in Mississippi for the GOP candidate for U.S. Senate.

Voting sites across the state will remain open until seven tonight.

The election has received a lot of national attention.

Monday, a field worker with the Thad Cochran campaign was fired then arrested on malicious mischief charges.

Lee Blair is accused of stealing and damaging signs belonging to the Chris McDaniel campaign.

Both candidates spent yesterday canvassing key sites across the state, trying to lock up votes before today's election.

I will be so glad to have these nasty attack ads off the air. This has been one of the dirtiest campaigns I’ve ever heard of.
