Memphis, TN– Despite not making a birdie over his final 29 holes, Ben Crane went wire to wire to win the FedEx St. Jude Classic by one shot over Troy Merritt for his 5th career PGA Tour win.

Crane fired a final round 3-over 73 to finish 10-under, but it was good enough to hold off a talented field to win on Tour for the first time in three years, and just months after a bad back almost forced him to give up golf.

Merritt finishing second at -9 while Webb Simpson, Matt Every and Carl Pettersson were another shot back at 8-under.

Fan favorite Phil Mickelson looked like he would make a Sunday charge, but after birdies at 11 and 12, Mickelson bogeyed 13 and 14 for a final round 72 to finish -6.
