MS Senate race most watched today

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- The polls are open in Mississippi today for the state's primary election.

Eyes across the nation are on this election, and it has been an ugly race.

Republican Chris McDaniel is facing off against Senator Thad Cochran who has held onto his U.S. Senate seat for 42 years.

That race is being closely watched since McDaniel is a Tea Party member challenging a Republican establishment candidate.

Polls close at 7 p.m .

Under Mississippi's new voter ID law, you must have an approved photo identification card to vote.
