(Memphis) The I-55 South ramp at Malfunction Junction is closed.

This is the ramp that goes from I-240 to south I-55.

It appears a large beam fell off an 18 wheeler and is blocking the ramp.

No injuries are reported.

Depending on how big that beam is driver coulda forgotten put back in trl. However if a FLATBED…UH OH!! Somebody didnt ck to make sure all straps/chains were tightened….which could lead to a DOT violation of a pretrip

no, flatbed trailers have to be checked within the first HOUR or so after being loaded. and about every 150 miles / 3 hours after that to make sure nothing came loose. it would have been failing to make a required safety check, not a pre-trip inspection.
