(Las Vegas, NV) Music group Rascal Flatts admitted they lip-synced their performance at the Academy of Country Music Awards Sunday.

The admission caught many by surprise because lip-syncing is considered a no, no in the country music industry.

Even worse, ACM co-host Blake Shelton started the show with this joke, “If you don’t like live music, then you need to go down the block and see Britney Spears.”

There were questions via social media almost from the start of the song “Rewind.”

Monday morning the group admitted to faking it, saying lead singer Gary LeVox lost his voice before the show.

Most fans did not seem to mind the questionable decision.
