(Memphis) An audit last summer noted more than 56,000 items from the old Memphis City Schools and from Shelby County Schools could not be found.

That included everything from computers, to cars.

At the time, the consolidated district blamed part of the problem on the school merger that was happening at the time.

Also the audit, for reason unknown, was done when some buildings were not accessible to the auditors.

According to SCS a new internal audit was done and more than half of the items have been recovered.
