Grizzlies Survive Late Scare From Lakers

Memphis, TN-Grizzlies guard Courtney Lee scored 18 points to lead Memphis over the Los Angeles Lakers, 108-103, on Wednesday in FedEx Forum.

Grizzlies center Marc Gasol, facing his older brother Pau on the Lakers, posted a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Tony Allen added 17 points for Memphis, while James Johnson also scored 14 and Zach Randolph added 13.

The Lakers knocked down 7 of 11 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and cut a 22-point second half lead down to three with 15 seconds left, but the Grizzlies iced the game at the free throw line.

Memphis controlled the inside, outrebounding the Lakers 45-34 and holding a 56-34 advantage on scoring in the paint.

The Grizzlies dominated the first half, shooting 57 percent, including 4 of 9 from outside the arc for a 65-46 lead at the break.
