Man Wanted By U.S. Marshals Is Also Person Of Interest For MPD

(Memphis) A man wanted by U.S. Marshals for rape in Delaware is also a person of interest for Memphis police.

Durron Jones is known to frequent the area around the Abington Apartments, and should be considered armed and dangerous.

The 22-year-old is 5’6″ and 110 lbs. with brown eyes and black hair.

He has a tattoo on his right hand, and MPD says he might be wearing layered clothing, “possibly a gray and blue or maroon plaid jacket with a hoodie.”

You may also remember that three women have been raped at the Abington Apartments.

Memphis police say officers are patrolling the area and making the apartment complex a high priority, patrolling at all hours of day and night, because this rapist is striking at all hours.

The man is breaking into women’s apartments at the complex and attacking them when they get home.

So far, police know the man has attacked at least three times: February 9, February 12, and this Tuesday.

MPD described him as “a male Black, 5’7”, thin build. In one of the attacks, he was wearing an orange shirt, maroon and gray plaid jacket, black baseball cap, and armed with a handgun.””
