Winter Storm Warning Issued For Memphis Area

(WREG-TV) A Winter Storm Warning is active for Memphis and much of the News Channel 3 viewing area.

We could see ice and sleet accumulation up to 4/10 inch of ice and 2/10 inch of sleet.

Temperatures are cold enough for icing on bridges and overpasses.

MLGW has seen outages topping 5,600 addresses at one point.

More than 30,000 are without power in Arkansas.

    It ‘s a shame the people in charge of seeing to whether the schools remain open or closed when bad weather hit like this morning. Our kid is nothing more than a price tag for money.Every seat that is occupied, is money for the state school system. Bad enough they have had to go to school in this sub-zero weather. No wonder the hospitals are full of kids
    with the flu and cold virus,with the parent paying the bills.
