Bench Players Lead Tigers to Easy Win

FedExForum– Seldom-used forwards Nick King and Kuran Iverson came off the bench to lead the Tigers to an easy 101-78 win over Division II LeMoyne-Owen.

King led five Tigers in double figures with 18 and Iverson scored a career-best 11 points as the U of M led from start to finish against the Magicians, shooting 59% for the game.

The Tigers assisted on 29 of their 38 made baskets with Geron Johnson filling up the stat sheet– 12 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals.

Memphis returns to conference play Thursday night at home to Houston.

    Divison 2, LeMoyne-Owen is just what the doctor ordered. Blowing out an inferior team should give us a push to the big dance. I wonder if we can schedule SW Community College next season too. Those conference games are hurting our record.
