(Memphis) An off-duty Memphis police officer was arrested early Sunday for DUI.

Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Sam Cooper near Highland at about 2:30 a.m.

The car driven by the off-duty police officer, Emmanuel Manzano, hit the back of the Toyota Camry.

The driver of the Camry, a 21-year-old woman who is reportedly pregnant, was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.

The responding officers reported Manzano was belligerent, smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes, and was unsteady on his feet.

He was arrested and charged with DUI, reckless driving, and public intoxication.

Manzano, who was hired in April 2011, has been relieved of duty pending the outcome of the investigation.
