(Southaven,MS) Southaven police have identified a person of interest in the New Year's Eve beating of an elderly Southaven woman.

Officers say they now have three warrants out for the arrest of 23-year-old Kwame M. Becton of Southaven.

He's also known to frequent the Chicago area, which is where the woman's vehicle was found last Friday.

The 86-year old woman was hospitalized after being attacked in her home off Airways.

Someone had got into her home, beat her, cut her, and then apparently left with her car.

A neighbor told WREG that she believes the woman, known as Ms. Georgia in the neighborhood, was targeted because another elderly person on their block had someone try to break in their home in the middle of the night, days earlier.

Southaven police ask anyone with information as to Becton's whereabouts to call Southaven police 662-393-8652 or DeSoto Crimestoppers at 662-249-TIPS.

They are also working with investigators in the Chicago area.
