One Hurt, Suspect In Custody After Shooting At Jackson, TN High School

(Jackson, TN) A 16-year-old Liberty Tech student was taken into custody about 30 minutes after a shooting at the Jackson, Tenn., high school.

A student was shot once in the leg. TheĀ 17-year-old’s condition is stable.

The shooting took place at Liberty Technology Magnet High School around dismissal time.

At about 5 p.m., a police dog found the gun used.

The suspect is being questioned.

Police say the motive remains under investigation.

According to its website, Liberty is, “a state-of-the-art high school where students could receive strong academics and, at the same time, have the opportunity to acquire advanced technical skills.”

The school is located at 3470 Ridgecrest Road Ext. in Jackson.
