Bond Set For George Zimmerman Assault Case

(Sanford, FL) George Zimmerman was arrested Monday in Seminole County, FL in connection with a disturbance at a home there.

Tuesday, a judge set a $9,000 bond.

Zimmerman, who is in the middle of a divorce, is charged with assault and battery after a dispute at his girlfriend’s home.

The woman alleges Zimmerman pointed a shotgun at her during the fight.

Zimmerman, the former Neighborhood Watch leader who was acquitted this summer in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, was booked into the Seminole County Jail.

In September, Lake Mary, Florida police confirmed they took George Zimmerman into ‘investigative custody.’

Police in the town, which is next to Sanford, FL, said Zimmerman and two other people were involved in a ‘domestic incident.’

In a 911 call, Zimmerman’s wife Shellie, said her husband punched her father in the nose and had his hand on his gun several times.

No charges were filed.

In July, Zimmerman pulled a man from an overturned truck.

CNN reports Zimmerman pulled over and was able to pull a man from the overturned truck on a Florida interstate.

The rescue was confirmed by Sanford Police.
