(Memphis) Starbucks is thanking those brave vets who fought for our freedom.

The coffee chain is planning to hire 10,000 veterans and military spouses over the next five years.

This comes after former Defense Secretary Robert Gates was appointed to Starbucks’ Board of Directors last year.

Starbucks also plans to open five stores on or near military bases that will share profits with the local communities.
