(Hoffman Estates, IL) Before you even pop the Thanksgiving turkey in the oven, you can get a head start on your holiday shopping!

This year, Kmart will open at 6:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving and stay open for 41 hours straight until 11 p.m. on Black Friday.

It’s the earliest opening yet of any retail store for Black Friday shopping.

Black Friday, which is the day after Thanksgiving, is considered the unofficial start of the holiday shopping season.

In recent years, stores have been opening earlier and earlier on Thanksgiving Day, offering big sales.

Thanksgiving should be just that. Forcing people to work is not honoring anything but the hope of meeting numbers. They will meet those numbers by running the sales the day after Thanksgiving. KMart is trying to set a new trend for holiday shopping and we should not allow them to win.
