(Memphis)  Investigators with the Memphis Fire Department are trying to figure out what sparked a large fire at a Whitehaven apartment complex early Thursday.

The fire broke out just after 6 a.m. in a vacant apartment at the Cazassa Creek Apartments on Cazassa Road just south of Winchester.

At one point, flames went through the roof of the building and the fire department decided to battle the blaze with ladder trucks from the exterior.

We’re told no one lived in the building affected by the fire and no firefighters were injured.
It took about 30 minutes for firefighters to bring the fire under control.
