(Memphis) Memphis Police said Wednesday that they are still investigating an incident that sent a 2-year-old boy to the hospital Saturday.

According to the police report, 21-year-old Darron Chatman was arguing with his girlfriend Keswana Smith Saturday at their home on Breedlove when Smith told police that Chatman beat her.

She told police that after he “stomped her in the face several times,” he then turned his attention to her 2-year-old son and “stomped him in the face and back.”

Police said the child had the be taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Chatman’s sister Neesha Moore said Smith’s story isn’t entirely true.

“He didn’t ever stomp the baby. The baby fell right here when they were out here having their altercation,” said Moore.

“Every time they get into it, the kids always follow them from the room to out here,” said Moore.

The police report said that Chatman took off running when officers made the scene, but Moore said her brother has since talked with an investigator.

A MPD spokeswoman said Wednesday that the investigation is on-going and charges could be imminent.

Chatman has no prior criminal arrest in Shelby County. MPD took pictures of Smith and her son's injuries.
