We’re on your side with a scam alert.

Someone is sending postcards in mail promising a free flight getaway.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office says it’s bogus.

The postcard features an airline, saying that you’ve been ‘selected’ to receive two round trip airfares and a hotel “for free.”

Some of the cards claim the offer is from American Airlines.

It’s actually from a company that sells very pricey travel club memberships.

Upon calling the toll free number, callers are asked several questions about their income and asked to attend a 90 minute sales presentation.

That’s in order to qualify.

People have lost thousands of dollars in this scam.
