(Smyrna, TN)  The T.B.I. has canceled an Amber Alert that was issued for a Middle Tennessee boy who was abducted by his own father.

Police in Smyrna, TN — which is south of Nashville — say they safely recovered 8-year-old Gabriel Swaney early Monday morning and took his father into custody.

Police in Murfreesboro, TN say 30-year-old Michael Swaney took the boy away from his mother Sunday evening after a domestic dispute.

When the Amber Alert was originally issued, police warned that Swaney was armed with at least two guns and a switch blade knife.

He was taken into custody without incident. There’s no word yet on what charges he might face.
