Security Guard Shot During Robbery

(Memphis)  A security guard is recovering after being shot during an armed robbery outside a Chinese restaurant in Raleigh.

Police say the shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Sunday at China Inn #2 on Covington Pike south of Stage Road.

The restaurant’s manager told police that she and the security guard were taking out the night deposit when two men came up and robbed them.

The two managed to get inside the security guard’s car — but that’s when one of the suspects grabbed his gun and shot into the car.

The security guard was hit. He was taken to the MED with minor injuries.

The manager wasn’t hurt — but she was visibly shaken by the incident.Police say the incident happened so fast that the victims didn’t have enough time to get a good look at the two suspects.Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH.
