(MEMPHIS) Eddie Allen is one of many North Memphis residents who remember the floods of 2011.

“Everything was flooded on that side of the street”, said Allen.

They watched the Wolf River rise two years ago and say things look pretty similar once again.

Memphis Fire Director Alvin Benson said firefighters are already noticing the rising river and keeping a close eye on it. The Mississippi continues to swell and the rain continues to fall.

“Be on high alert, pay attention, you just did it two years ago”, said Benson.  “If your area floods, think about alternatives to what you do today.”

Benson remembers all the rescues from the flooding in 2011, he says they know what areas are at risk and they're watching to be prepared.
