(Memphis) Memphis Police have charged a sixty-five year old man after they say he admitted to killing his brother.

Gerald Turner is charged with Voluntary Manslaughter.

MPD found his 61-year-old brother Ronald, in the back bedroom of a house in the 800 block of Red Leaf Lane in Westwood Monday night after 8.

Ronald had been shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

“It still shouldn’t have ended like that, brothers you know. That’s family there. That’s too deep,” said neighbor Bennie Sample who knew Ronald.

Turner owned the home where he and Ronald and possibly a third brother lived.

Police report that Gerald gave a typed written statement of admission.

Gerald doesn’t have a violent criminal past.

Neighbors said the men were quiet, so they were surprised this would happen.

“Both of them, both of them are very quiet, very nice people,” said Ron Brown.

Gerald Turner is due in court Wednesday morning. He is being held with a $150,000 bond.
