(Memphis)  Investigators are working to determine what caused a pair of overnight fires that displaced at least eight people in two Memphis neighborhoods.

Around midnight, a fire broke out at a house in the 3700 block of Box Elder Cove — which is near Winchester and Hickory Hill Rd.

Firefighters say four people were inside — an adult and three children. They all made it out OK and are now being assisted by the American Red Cross.

A few minutes later, dispatchers received reports of another fire — this one at an apartment complex on Peebles Road in southwest Memphis.

At least four units were damaged by the fire. There were no injuries but at least four people were displaced.
