MEMPHIS, TN – St. Louis Cardinals third baseman David Freese is expected to join the Redbirds on Thursday, April 4 as part of an injury rehabilitation assignment for a lower back strain.

The 2011 World Series MVP has played 191 games in a Redbirds uniform while picking up a PCL Championship in 2009. Freese hit .303 (.205-for-677) with 36 home runs and 129 RBIs over that span.
