Charges Filed in Two Deadly Shootings

(Memphis) Memphis police have charged two men in two recent deadly shootings.

19-year-old Calvin McMickens faces first degree murder charges for a shooting early Friday morning in Whitehaven. Police say he killed Keishawn White at a gas station at the corner of Brooks Rd. and Millbranch. A motive was not disclosed.

In a separate case, 21-year-old Nicholas McKinley was charged with reckless homicide in the shooting of his girlfriend. 20-year-old Daejanara Brooks was found shot to death at the Hickory Farms Apartments on Sunday. Investigators say McKinley told them that he was playing with a gun when it accidentally went off and killed her.
