Convenience Store Raided For Illegal Gambling Payouts

(Forrest City, AR) Forrest City Police busted a gas station for illegal gambling.

Officer executed a search warrant at Sam’s Express, located at 110 E. Broadway.

Police say a cashier at the store had been paying out cash awards to players on game machines.

Investigators seized 13 gaming machines, with an estimated value of $39,000.

More than $2300 in cash from inside the machines was also seized.

According to police, “Arkansas state law prohibits any non-cash prize with a wholesale value in excess of $12.50, or any cash prize, to be awarded by any amusement machine operator or redeemed by any player.”

The owner, Amin Almintoser, will be charged with Gambling Houses (13 counts) and Gaming Devices – Prohibition (13 counts).
